About me

Hi, my name is Jo, I am a qualified Person Centred Therapeutic Counsellor offering counselling/ therapy in Northampton to adults and young people. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and making the decision to seek therapy can feel daunting, I will offer you a safe non-judgemental space for you to explore, at your pace, the difficulties you may be having.

I believe that the relationship between client and counsellor is as important as the approach, cultivating an environment of trust in order to explore the issues that are impacting your life right now. These may come from the past or recent events resulting in preventing you from living your life to its full  potential.

I will occasionally challenge but am there to walk alongside you on the sometimes difficult journey of self discovery.

It is very important that you find the right counsellor for you, to that end I recommend a free 30 minute telephone consultation to discuss your needs and for you to see if I am that person.

I offer both long and short-term therapy.

Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have and I will aim to respond within 48 hours.

No issue is too small or big to benefit from therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
