Psychotherapist - Dip. MBACP

About me

Deciding to begin psychotherapy is a deeply personal and sometimes difficult choice. It often comes after a period of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply knowing that something needs to change, but not quite knowing how. There are many reasons why people begin therapy, however whatever your reasons, choosing to begin therapy is a brave and important step. It means you are choosing your wellbeing and that you are open to the possibility of change, healing, and growth.

You may be unsure of what you need from therapy, many people do, we can start our work together from wherever you are right now.

My approach to psychotherapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each person. I will work with you, through the process, a process that can help you understand yourself more deeply, work through emotional difficulties, and make meaningful changes in your life.

The decision to come into therapy is the first step I believe that therapy is most effective when it feels like a safe and respectful space for you to be heard without judgment and a confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

I have a private practice working with clients who experience a number of issues such as relationship issues, bereavement, anxiety, depression, stress and trauma.

Whatever brings you here, I offer a safe therapeutic relationship where you can be truly heard.

Practice description
I offer long and short term therapy from my office in Ruislip, Greater London or via Zoom. After our 1st initial 75 minute session and deciding that we could work together, the following sessions will last 50 minutes at the same time every week.

As a therapist, I aim to provide you with a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. It is a process that can help you understand yourself more deeply and work through emotional difficulties.

People come to therapy for many reasons - stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, loss, or simply a desire for personal growth. Whatever brings you here, I offer a supportive relationship where you can be truly heard and understood.

Through our regular 50 minute sessions, we can work together to:

  • Identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck
  • Make sense of difficult emotions and experiences
  • Improve self-esteem and emotional resilience
  • Strengthen your relationships and sense of identity

Psychotherapy isn't about giving advice or quick fixes - it’s about empowering you to understand yourself better and create lasting change from within.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked with children and families for the last 30 years including working for the NHS and charity sector. I have experience supporting parents pre and post natal, families in crisis, families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness and experience with end of life support. I am a registered member of the BACP and trained with The Counselling Foundations in St Albans.

I continue my professional development, however I believe that a vital part has been my own personal development  having spent many years in personal therapy, in the 'other chair'. This firsthand experience allows me to meet you with genuine empathy and the understanding of the courage it takes to start the process and explore growth.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
