About me

Feeling not quite like your usual self and need someone non judgemental, unbiased, warm, caring and empathic to talk to? We all need space and time to be able to talk and process our feelings. Our feelings, if not clear, can make us confused, unhappy and we are often not sure why. How often do we give enough time to ourselves in our busy lives to be able to really consider how we are feeling?

I offer Counselling sessions in a safe, comfortable homely and highly confidential environment. Due to the current pandemic i have moved my services online. Many if my clients have experienced huge benefits in maintaining their personal Counselling journey in this way.   My independant Service name is Just Being Human Counselling. Your face to face appointments (when resumed) will take place in an area with private parking in a cul de sac location and with easy access and plenty of parking.

Online you can use various encrypted and secure methods to attend your appointments from the comfort of your home or Office. This can fit into a busy schedule & reduce the stress of requesting time to leave the work place  it has also proven to be extremely supportive for those suffering from anxiety & not able to attend appointments through becoming too anxious or overwhelmed. I endeavour to be fully inclusive

I am a qualified BACP registered Therapeutic Person Centred Counsellor and I currently practice in the Coventry and Warwickshire areas.I use a wide range of Counselling skills, Person Centred, Solution Focused, Family oriented therapy and Mindfulness to meet the needs of all my clients.

I have experience in supporting people through various life issues. Being experienced in many areas, some of which are attachments, depression, anxiety, work related stress, life stress, family issues, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, low self-esteem, confidence issues and young people.

I have practiced within the Barnardo Charity Group in Warwick and also worked as a Client Referral Agent for the charity MIND within the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) Service in Coventry.

I aim to support you to reach a good healthy level of mental health and well-being self awareness and to provide you with support to be able to move forward and cope with life's journey.

Private parking and easy access - no communal waiting rooms.

The setting is calm, peaceful and homely. Im located centrally for ease of access and within a private Cul-de-Sac location, which helps maintain autonomy and privacy.

Just Being Human Counselling was asked to Support a Coventry Born Singer Sandra Godley to build her Choir.  The Choir was made up from people who had suffered either Physical or Mental Health Issues.  The Choir named ‘Choir-Ability’ performed their song on the BBC One Show as part of the celebrations for the Royal Wedding of Prince Henry of Wales (Harry) and Meghan Markle. Due to Prince Harry's conviction to support people suffering from Mental Health issues through the Charity 'Head Space'.  I was honoured to be asked to be the Independent Counsellor on site providing re-focussing and grounding techniques to enable individuals to engage in the Choirs activities & to get through their audition & stage fright.  Exceptionally Inspiring event.  The Choir sang on the BBC One Show on May 17th at 7pm.

To date on the 12th Dec i presented ‘Just Being Human Counselling - Essential Self Care’ to a Regiment of the British Army. It was a great honour to work with Service personal. Being part of their annual Health and Well being Fair and due to Covid & the pandemic, this took place successfully online via Zoom.  Nothing stopping sharing the message of Well Being, Self Care and the importance of Mental Health Fitness.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
