About me

Hello and a warm welcome to you.

I'm a counselling therapist offering remote sessions across the UK. I do have a small number of slots for in person sessions in London so please do enquire if that's what suits you.

Therapy changed my life. Being in an unconditional, affirming space where I finally felt safe to rethink and look at things in a way that I hadn't before. I would like to offer the same to anyone who is considering working with me.

My role is to be with you, in your exploration, with genuine congruence and empathy. I also aim to create a sound basis for sessions. I explain (jargon free!) and answer questions that come up along the way helping to keep my clients at the center of their process. Not every client will fit with every therapist; this is why I offer a free, no obligation 15 minute introduction session to help you make an informed choice.

I have a varied background in private and public sectors with my interest and expertise being work related stress, burnout, shame, chronic conditions and the lack of representation and spaces for intersectional individuals. Take a look at my website rethinkyou.co.uk for more information.

It can be hard enough talking about our experiences without having to reiterate and break down differences. I bring understanding, not assumptions to your sessions.

I also work with clients who need help with general mental health concerns; offering both short and long-term sessions dependent on your needs. Do have a look at the areas I work with on my profile to see if I can help.

Although I have an understanding of various therapeutic processes and may draw from them in my work; I am Person Centred. What is Person Centred? Well, in a nutshell it's therapy that puts emphasis on your experience and given the right therapeutic environment, capacity for healing.

Carl Rogers (American Psychologist, founder of Person Centred Theory) is quoted to have said:

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
