About me
Life can be unpredictable at times, sometimes everything feels overwhelming or it feels like you are stuck in life with difficult emotions or no clear path to follow. If you are feeling anxious, depressed; if you are feel constantly on edge and you would like to understand your nervous system and find ways to regulate it; if you are struggling with relationships in your life or going through a hard time and you are looking for a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you are seen and heard while getting tailored support, this space is for you.
My name is Jessica. I am an integrative counsellor and coach working with adults (16+) via online sessions. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London.
As an integrative counsellor, I work with a variety of tools from different therapeutic and coaching approaches in order to meet your needs in a way that makes it most beneficial to you as the client.
My integrative work is built upon a person-centred approach and the therapeutic relationship, with a focus on a calm, safe and non-judgemental place for you to explore your inner world and us working together towards your therapeutic goals and needs.
If you are looking for a calm and non-judgemental therapeutic space and would like to explore the option of us working together, please message me.
I offer a free initial 20 minute phone call to explore what you would like to get out of therapy and a place for you to ask questions about the way I am working. This will also show whether we would be a good fit to work together.
You can also email me with any questions you may have.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London, with training in a variety of tools from different therapeutic and coaching approaches. This integrative approach allows me to be flexible in how we navigate our sessions and find what works well in any given scenario. It includes therapeutic approaches such as Person-Centred, Gestalt, Existentialism, Psychodynamic, CBT and ACT.
I have a trained background as a creative and performing musician, so I have a personal understanding of the pressures and challenges that come with working in a creative industry.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
