About me
Hello. Whatever reason you are seeking help for, I provide a warm and compassionate place for you to explore what is happening, and help you to develop your resources to assist you finding your best solutions. I have been working in private practice, helping people for over 30 years now.
A core element in counselling and psychotherapy is to know and understand yourself better. Through developing ourselves, we can enhance our ability to cope with life’s challenges more effectively. We are then able to improve our relationships, and let go of old patterns that no longer serve us. All of this can give our lives greater meaning and fulfillment.
Short-term counselling can be used to focus on a specific issue, like a difficult decision, a particular goal or problem. Whilst long-term therapy, can support more profound insight and lasting change. Choosing the length and focus of our work will vary according to your needs and circumstances.
Whilst what I have written here will give you some idea about what I am offering, the best way to know if you would like to work with me, is for us to have an initial consultation.
Choosing to see a Counsellor or Therapist can be a crucial step to sorting out whatever is troubling you. If you want to make an appointment with me, please call 07980 009356. If you would rather write to me, please click the email connection above, including your phone number(s) and I will get back to you as soon as I can. We can then schedule a session, where we can discuss what is happening for you, and see if we feel we could work well together.
Training, qualifications & experience
Chiron Certificate for Integrative Body Psychotherapy
Chiron Association for Body Psychotherapy Diploma (CABP)
United Kingdom Council For Psychotherapy Accredited (UKCP)
I have been working as an Integrative Body Psychotherapist for over 15 years. Prior to this, I have 17 years experience as a Body Therapist, where I developed a way of working which drew on elements of counselling, coaching and specialist massage.
Alongside my one-to-one work, I created and facilitated a range of personal development workshops in England and Holland, which enabled participants to resolve issues and gain insight into themselves, whilst exploring fuller self expression with others.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
