About me
We can all find life difficult at times, current or past unresolved issues leave us feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, affecting our wellbeing and emotions. Feeling unheard or misunderstood we stop expressing these emotions to those close to us, leading us to repeat unhealthy patterns and learned behaviours which can stop us reaching our full potential.
Counselling can provide an opportunity to explore your feelings, make sense of what is, or has happened, gaining greater self-awareness to empower you. It isn’t about me giving advice but rather supporting you to find your own answers, led by you, the only expert of your life. I will bring my knowledge and experience, giving you the space to explore your complex emotions and work through the confusing feelings and negative thoughts that have been causing you concern.
I understand it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable with and trust to work through those emotions, so, I offer a free initial appointment of up to 30 minutes, either by telephone or on zoom. This will help you get more of a sense of who I am and what I offer, giving space to ask any questions and decide if I am the right person to support you on your journey without any further obligation.
How I work
As an Integrative Counsellor, I believe there isn't a single therapeutic approach that can treat each person in all situations. I’ll value you as a unique person, as are your needs and circumstances, therefore my therapeutic approach is always influenced by the individual I work with, drawing on elements of Person-centred therapy, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
- Person centred therapy helps you explore your own feelings, beliefs and behaviours helping you become more self-aware and have greater independence.
- Psychodynamic therapy helps you understand how your current feelings and behaviours are shaped by your past experiences and unconscious mind.
- A CBT approach provides tools and coping strategies to help identify unhelpful thinking patterns and make small changes to enable you to manage them more effectively.
Counselling can help you:
- Understand how learned behaviours stop you from reaching your full potential
- Deal with anger and frustrations
- Feel empowered and able to lead a more fulfilling life
- Understand and deal with the past, present and future effectively
- Handle stress and anxiety with confidence
- Think and act with positivity
- Create and sustain positive relationships

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
