About me

Hi I'm Jen... I'm the face behind Seasons and Stepping Stones counselling services.

I am an integrative counsellor, this means that I do not only follow one single method, for all my clients. Instead, I will come alongside and find out what the individual needs and apply the most appropriate psychological theory and approach for that person - after all we are not all the same!

Just as a suitcase can get jumbled and things get stuffed in, the same is true of our emotions. The events and experiences of life, both the good and the bad can get all shoved into our ‘emotional suitcase’ and it can become heavy to carry each day, or you may even feel that it has burst open, and its contents is all over the floor! This is where counselling can really help. In a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment, together we will look through your 'emotional suitcase' and you can decide what will go back into your 'case'... maybe it is time for something to be let go? Or maybe it needs to be looked at in a new way; becoming refolded and packed away back into your 'case'.

You will find me to be warm, caring and honest. I am genuinely passionate to support and work with my clients so that they can become all that they want. If this is the type of counsellor you are wanting, then don't hesitate to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Certificate of Proficiency (BACP)
  • CPCAB Diploma Therapeutic Counselling
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

My area of specialism is loss and grief. Loss and grief can impact all areas of our lives and in ways we do not realise. However, that does not mean I do not work with those who are looking to work through other things - far from it!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
