About me

I'm a BACP registered Psychotherapist with over 10 years experience helping people with their mental and emotional wellbeing. I'm an integrative therapist which means I tailor the sessions to suit you, I use a blend of therapies including Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, somatic (Body orientated) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness.

The therapy I offer helps you understand why negative patterns keep coming up in your life and how to break free of them. If you find yourself repeatedly feeling anxious, down or bad about yourself it may be that these issues have their roots in the past. By exploring and understanding how and why these patterns came about you'll be more empowered to change them. You'll learn how to relate to yourself with greater awareness and self-compassion. Therapy requires a desire for change and commitment to breaking free of old habits so you are free to create the life you choose.

Online Therapy

Online therapy is an effective, convenient and flexible way to have your sessions. It takes place on skype, zoom or video call. You'll need a good internet connection and quiet, confidential space to take the call. The initial session is an assessment to discuss what brings you to therapy and to familiarise you with working online. If we are able to work together further sessions will be booked from there. I see my clients on a weekly basis online.

How I work

The therapeutic relationship forms the basis of our work together and I will share with you a range of techniques and models to help you understand yourself at a deeper level. You will gain awareness and clarity around the reasons you get stuck in unhelpful or destructive situations, thoughts or emotions.

I also use mindfulness and somatic therapy which helps you to reconnect to your body and emotions. Quite often if we've experienced some type of difficulty or  trauma in the past the emotions which accompany this can become stuck in our body and cause ongoing symptoms of physical or mental distress. Reconnecting to the emotions and physical body is an important aspect of my work. It is often this sense of internal disconnection that gives rise to s feeling of being lost, empty or struggle in our relationship with others.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity to explain what brings you to therapy and I'll explain a bit about how I work. The session takes place on zoom, skype or video call and takes around an hour. If we're happy to work together we can then book sessions from there.

Send me a message to get started today.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
