MBACP Psychotherapist + Coach

About me

I work at depth to help you understand and work through the underlying reasons for repeating patterns of anxiety, low self worth or relationship difficulties. We'll look at the past to understand how this affects you now and to discover where the negative thoughts and feelings came from so you can change them

When we want to be free of difficult feelings It's often necessary to explore childhood and attachment difficulties which cause the majority of recurring problems in our lives and relationships. If you've had anxiety or depression for a long time or it comes in cycles then there will be past or childhood wounds which need to be understood, worked through and healed. I use a blend of inner child work and somatic therapy to work with deeply held patterns in your body and mind which causes issues such as self sabotaging, anxiety, distress, hopelessness, feeling numb and overwhelm.

My work has a spiritual aspect which can be brought into the therapy space if this resonates with you. This type of therapy aims to increase your level of consciousness so together we can 'hold space' for your feelings to be brought into awareness, witnessed and released. This is achieved by creating a safe container and building a solid therapeutic relationship between us that enables you to feel safe and confident in the space. I use present moment awareness, openness, honesty, integrity and compassion as the foundation for our work together.

I am most suited to work with those already on a journey of personal development, a spiritual path or if you've had therapy before and want to move through your emotional blocks at a deeper level. The essence of the therapy I offer is about reconnection and working through the conditioned patterns that keep you stuck. If you feel lost, confused or overwhelmed by life, therapy can help you make sense of your feelings so you can really get to know yourself and make the positive changes needed to create the life you want.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
