Jennifer Kennedy - Anxiety Psychotherapist
BACP registered Psychotherapist. I specialise in working with anxiety, low self esteem, eating disorders and trauma. Therapy is about helping you make lasting positive changes to your life. If you've been experiencing anxiety or depression for a long time, it can take time to work through the patterns of negative thoughts, feelings and behaviors which are keeping you feeling stuck. The process requires focus, commitment and a desire for change.
Therapy takes place via Skype, telephone or video call. I'm an experienced online therapist and find this way of working to be as effective as face to face therapy. I can be flexible with times, you will need a quiet confidential space to do the session. I have also started to offer outdoor therapy sessions in Liverpool.
How I work
I use a blended style of therapy including Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, mindfulness and body-centred Psychotherapy. The therapeutic relationship forms the basis of our work together.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for you to explain what brings you to therapy and I'll explain a bit about how I work. The session takes place via telephone or video call and takes around an hour. If it's suitable for us to work together we can then book sessions from there.
Where I work
I work online and have recently started to offer outdoor therapy in Liverpool. The sessions takes place on Skype or video call, you will need a confidential space to do the session this can be at home, work or even in your car. I can be flexible with times and currently have some weekend appointments available.
I am a professional and reliable therapist who will create a confidential and safe space where you can explore your difficulties and make changes to your life. Talking about how we feel is a powerful way to understand ourselves and make sense of our lives. Through the process of sharing our experiences we can begin to work out why we feel stuck and the changes that need to be made to move forward. I work at depth to explore the underlying reasons for long term anxiety or depression and therefore the therapy generally takes place on a medium to long term basis.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
