About me

You might be here because you feel that something needs to change. Maybe you're dealing with anxiety, low mood, difficulties in relationships, loss, or things from the past that are still affecting how you feel today.

If any of this sounds familiar and you're thinking about counselling, I intend to meet you with care and warmth. I offer a space where you can feel heard, understood and accepted just as you are.

Hello, I'm Jenna

I'm a qualified person-centred counsellor, and I work with adults and young people aged 13 and over.

I have over twenty years of experience working within mental health and social care, including acute mental health settings. Over the years, I have supported adults, young people and families in a wide range of complex situations.

For nearly five years now, I've worked with children, young people and families, including as a youth worker supporting young people at risk of exclusion with their emotional wellbeing and mental health, and more recently in a trauma-informed charity which provides support to help tackle cycles of intergenerational trauma. Through this work, I've gained a deeper understanding of how these experiences can have rippling effects, shaping us into the adults we become.

What I’ve learned along the way is that when someone feels truly safe and heard, the knots that have built up over time can start to come apart, creating space for self-compassion and understanding. Gently, we can begin to move towards feeling more whole.

If you're a young person

If you're 13 or over and thinking about counselling, this is time that's just for you. You can talk about what's on your mind, or take a while to work out what that is. You don't need to have it all figured out, we can work through it together.

If you're a parent or carer

I understand how hard it can be to see your child struggling and not know how to help. You're welcome to contact me with any questions.

How I work
I won’t tell you what you should do or how you should feel. You decide what we talk about, and how quickly or slowly we go. Over time, many people find this gives them room to understand themselves more deeply and work out what, if anything, they want to change.

My professional practice

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework, and I keep to appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding practices. I'm fully insured, and I keep developing my knowledge and skills through training and regular supervision.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
