About me
More about me:
Hello and a warm welcome to Peakland Therapy!
My name is Jeanette and I’m a Mental Health Nurse and CBT Therapist by background. I have had the privilege of supporting people with mental health difficulties for well over 20 years and am passionate about helping people overcome life's challenges and improve their mental wellbeing.
My approach to therapy:
Coming from a background in Mental Health Nursing, my approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and empathetic. If you are struggling with your mental health and well-being, I offer you a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to talk through your difficulties.
My approach is person-centred, recovery-focused and tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring that the therapy I provide is personalised and highly effective.
How Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can help:
Are you finding life challenging, difficult, or stressful? Are you struggling with anxiety, feeling worried, depressed, or emotionally overwhelmed?
You are not alone. Therapy can help.
It can be hard to know where to turn for help; however, I am here to offer you the support you need to overcome any mental health difficulties you may be facing.
Whether you're feeling anxious, low or overwhelmed, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help you gain control over unhelpful patterns of thoughts and behaviours. Therapy can help you break free from those vicious cycles that are keeping you stuck and hindering your personal growth, development and emotional wellbeing.
CBT can help you to explore and understand your thoughts, emotions and behaviours. The skills learnt during therapy can help you develop long-lasting, healthier and more effective coping strategies. Together we can work to help you build self-confidence, resilience and improve your quality of life across areas of life such as relationships, work, home, family, social activities, hobbies and health.
If you are struggling with life and feeling emotionally frazzled, I can offer you a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for you to talk through your difficulties. If you are looking for a listening ear, empathy, compassion, and hope for the future, you have come to the right place.
What to expect from therapy:
I offer online and telephone sessions to make therapy easy, accessible and comfortable.
Your first session is an Initial Assessment where we will spend time talking through what has brought you to therapy; exploring what your current difficulties are and how they are affecting you and your daily life. We will also explore and set meaningful, achievable goals that you want to work on during therapy. Assessments last between 60 and 90 minutes.
Any sessions after this will be Treatment Sessions where we will work collaboratively together to formulate and understand your mental health problem; explore connections between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours; understand better your own personal vicious cycles and discover ways to break these; and develop new strategies and approaches to managing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours. Treatment sessions are between 50 minutes and an hour.
How to get in touch:
I offer a free 15-minute consultation call if you want to discuss your needs in more detail, or ask any questions about therapy or the services I offer.
You can also contact me via email or through completing the 'Contact me' form on my website.
Feel free to reach out anytime to begin your journey toward emotional well-being, and we can take the first step on your well-being journey together.
