About me

With many years’ experience working as a trauma informed counsellor and advocate, I have specialised in supporting survivors of sexual abuse.
I work with adults, young people and couples in Kinver, Stourbridge, and the surrounding area.

My approach can be tailored to meet your individual needs, empowering you along your healing journey and validating your feelings without judgement.

We will work together to explore the long-term impacts of trauma such as feelings of isolation, loss of control and self-worth. I am committed to ensuring your therapeutic journey is safe and free from re-traumatisation, with your psychological and emotional wellbeing always at the forefront of our work.

I have a comprehensive understanding of the long-term impacts of trauma, and I am experienced working with low self-confidence, self-harm, PTSD, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, and stress.

At the end of your journey our goal will be to achieve positive change and for you to live your fullest life.

I am a registered member of BACP.

Contact me to arrange an initial telephone call to discuss how I can offer you the support you are looking for, and take the next steps towards positive change.

Age range

I work with adults and young people from fourteen.

How I work

A person-centred approach is the foundation of my practice, integrating other therapeutic methods to create a tailored approach in my work. This means you are at the centre of the process, working together to address your needs. I will not tell you what to do, but by creating a safe, trusting environment you will be offered the opportunity to talk openly about your concerns and experiences.

I offer an initial twenty-minute telephone call for you to see whether you feel counselling may help and whether I am the right counsellor. I will be open if I feel my approach would not meet your needs and would support you in understanding which approach may be more beneficial.

I am dedicated to participating in ongoing CPD courses and workshops, ensuring the continuous improvement of my knowledge and skills. This commitment is essential for delivering a professional service to my clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
