About me

Hello and welcome, my name is Jayne and I am a fully qualified counsellor offering Counselling and Transactional Analysis (TA) Psychotherapy. I have several years  experience and work with adult individuals, couples and groups, offering face to face and online therapy. I adhere to the UKATA Code of Ethics & Professional Practice.

Are you experiencing challenges in life and think that you might need some extra support? It might be with a recent event or something from the past. Do you have a pattern of thinking that ‘things keep happening to me’ or a feeling of ‘something isn’t right’? I believe that having the right person alongside you, to support you in making sense of your thinking, feeling and behaviour, can provide valuable insight that may prove to be the catalyst for lasting transformation.

The way I work and how I can help YOU

I offer an attuned and emphatic, safe space, where we can explore together any difficulties that you are experiencing. I work as a Relational Therapist and passionately believe the therapeutic relationship that we create together, is the foundation for emotional healing and your long term personal development and growth. Drawing extensively from my training in Transactional Analysis (TA) and experience as a therapist in private practice, I will support you to find a deeper understanding of your inner world, your relationship with yourself and others and to find acceptance and healing, moving towards a more authentic you. To discover a little more about Transactional Analysis (TA), please see

We all have a story to tell and I’m interested in you and your narrative. What’s happened in your life and how that might be impacting you and causing you distress today. I will meet you and be with you, offering my full attention, from an interested and compassionate place. I absolutely believe that we all have the capacity to think and to find our greater potential. We will work at your pace, with whatever you might bring (and you may not know what that is initially), to achieve the outcomes that you desire. Understanding the dynamics in relationship with ourselves and between ourselves and others is, I believe, the key to unlocking our true potential.

My special focus and enthusiasm is with helping you to ‘find your voice’. To be seen and heard and to be authentic with yourself and others, being able to ‘speak your own truth’. With this, I think we begin to find our true identity and value, within ourselves, leading to greater intimacy, spontaneity and autonomy. If you resonate with any of this and would like to speak your own truth, please reach out and contact me on 07553 959690 or email me here.

What happens initially

From your first contact, I will endeavour to respond within 24 hours. We can then either arrange your initial appointment or book your free 20 minute telephone/online consultation. If you choose this consultation, it will give you the opportunity to say a little about what brings you to therapy and to ask any questions that you may have. To put your mind at ease, this initial consultation is not a therapy session, it’s more of an informal discussion.

What happens next and what to expect from our sessions

If we believe that we can work together, we will then arrange your first appointment. In your first session, I will ask you more about your current challenges and take some background information from you. This is a ‘getting to know you session’ and an opportunity for us to discuss your desired outcomes. We can meet either face to face in my safe, private and confidential office in Oulton, Leeds 26, or online via a password protected and locked Zoom meeting. Our sessions would last for 50 minutes and I offer both short term and long term counselling and psychotherapy, depending on your wishes and we would discuss this together at your first session.

Further information

I work from a wonderful community building called Oulton Institute, which is located in a quiet residential area of Oulton, Leeds 26. It has excellent transport links from Leeds and beyond. If travelling by car, there is plenty of on street parking in this quiet neighbourhood. Located near Woodlesford train station, which is one stop from Leeds City Centre and takes around 10 minutes, with trains running approximately every half hour, it is then a steady 10/15 minute walk to my office. There are various buses to nearby Fleet Lane or Oulton Hall, which take around half an hour from Leeds Centre and then a short walk to my office.
