About me
I offer a person centred counselling service in the Merseyside area. I can help you gain clarity and insight into how you think and feel and help you to understand, heal, grow and be kinder to yourself. Let go of old habits, feel better and live life more fully.
I walk with you with warmth, care and at your pace.
Counselling provides a safe, impartial and confidential space in which to explore your feelings. Talking to a counsellor in a professional environment, safe in the knowledge that what you say will be listened to in a non-judgemental way. Counselling can help you to understand what is at the root of the concerns, and help you to work to resolve them.
All of us at some point in our lives will experience times when we feel that we are overwhelmed or cannot cope. These feelings often impact on other areas of our life leaving us feeling that we are unable to live life happily. This may be the time to seek out a counsellor.
Feelings such as anger, grief, anxiety and depression can be distressing and cause anguish especially if they have been with us for a long time. Counselling can help you to explore and reflect upon these feelings. It can help you to understand what is at the root of the concern, and can help you work to resolve the difficulties

First session: Sessions last for 1hr minutes and take place in my counselling rooms In the first session we will cover confidentiality, data protection, with a brief introduction to counselling. By finding out more of what has brought you to counselling, we can explore those feelings and discuss the form your counselling may take.
Person Centred counselling relies on the building of a therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor where the client is offered empathy, congruence and UPR.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Client Feedback
‘Jane was fabulous in her approach to listen to my concerns and re-assure me that the thoughts and feelings are normal. She then worked with me through ways to cope with the situation and come out of it the best possible way. Really enjoyed the chats I have had, and the help provided by Jane. Thank you!’
I find Jane's insights very useful. She helps me navigate to the crux of whatever issue I'm facing and provide suggestions and alternate view points which I have very helpful. She is supportive and actively listens.
In my five weeks or so speaking with Jane, I have learned so much about myself. Jane is totally non-judgmental and she really helps me to feel at ease when we are talking. She listens and lets you come to your own conclusions whilst also providing nuggets of wisdom and advice through our conversations. I was treating therapy with a great deal of trepidation when I initially signed up, this has almost totally dissipated and that is largely thanks to Jane. Thanks!
I only had a few sessions with Jane thus far, but I appreciate her approach during the sessions and I think she is thoughtful and careful about how she responds to my comments and she provided me with tools which I found useful.
Jane has made me feel really comfortable in our sessions thus far. She tailors our sessions to the type of therapy that would help me specifically and is always punctual. She listens and isn’t afraid to challenge thought processes I have that may need more work.

She makes me very safe opening up to her. Always respectful and compassionate towards me. Even checking up on me on random days and answering my chats promptly. Jane Francis gives very good advice and makes you feel comfortable
