About me

Do you sometimes wish that you could just talk to someone about how you really feel, without the fear of being judged and without being offered advice? Someone who will listen to you in order to understand what is going on for you? A space to feel heard, and where you can feel valued for who you are?

Our feelings can be confusing at times, and sometimes it may be difficult to know why we are feeling the way we do, and how we can help ourselves. Counselling can help to unscramble the many feelings and emotions we may have, to help us to understand them in order to move forward.

My name is Jane, and I can offer you a quiet and confidential space where you can talk freely about whatever is on your mind. This space is there to offer you some time away from your everyday life, with the opportunity to stop and explore what is troubling you, and to be supported in a safe and non-judgemental way, while talking through difficult and painful feelings and emotions.

I offer face to face counselling in both Egham and Wokingham.

In Egham I work on Mondays from 9am to 9pm, and for the rest of the week, Tuesday to Friday, I work flexible hours from my room in central Wokingham. Both rooms are quiet and comfortable. There is free on-site parking for both locations.

Training, qualifications & experience

CPCAB Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

Experience

I have been seeing clients since 2019 and as well as being in private practice, I also work for 2 counselling agencies. I have worked with a wide variety of mental health difficulties over the years, mainly with adults 18+.

How I work

I believe that each person is a unique individual with unique needs, and so I work integratively, drawing on different counselling theories as appropriate. You decide what you want to talk about at each session, and it's you who chooses what you feel happy to share with me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
