About me
I have been a counsellor for over five years and am passionate about therapy and its potential to help people live better lives. I believe everybody has the ability to tap into hidden innate resources to heal and overcome personal barriers to being who they truly are. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, compassionate space where you can start to understand yourself in a way that helps you flourish.
My therapeutic approach integrates psychodynamic approaches which aims to explore personal inner conflicts. I am informed in IFS which promotes self compassion which I have found to be affective in releasing anxieties and building self-esteem. As part of my diploma where I also learned techniques from other methodologies, I make use of elements of cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred. This helps to tailor the therapeutic process to what is most beneficial to the client.
I am experienced in working with depression, anxiety, and past trauma. I spent the first few years of practice working in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre. Addiction is widely misunderstood and I have an understanding through personal experience which I found beneficial in being able to this client base. Many of my clients had experienced adverse childhood experiences and who also had other underlying issues which overlap addiction such as attachment trauma and eating disorders. I then went on to do a lead therapist role in another residential rehabilitation centre where I was responsible for creating the therapeutic program which included different therapeutic groups which focused on different aspects of psychological healing such as I have mentioned above.
I now work in private practice which includes referrals from a charity helping people who have experienced childhood trauma. I have found that my way of working informed by IFS affective in the healing process for trauma as well.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
