About me

A space to pause. A space to talk. A space that’s yours.

At The Space Between, I offer person-centred counselling that is open, honest, genuine and human.

At The Space Between, I recognise that life isn’t always clear-cut. Sometimes we find ourselves facing change, uncertainty, loss or relationship difficulties, or simply trying to understand ourselves a little better.

Counselling can provide a space to pause, reflect and be heard - without judgement, pressure or needing to have everything figured out.

I don’t see myself as someone who sits across from you with all the answers. I’m a person too. I’ve had my own difficult chapters, and I understand that life can take us to places we never expected to be.

My role is to meet you where you are, listen, understand and explore things alongside you. I want our conversations to feel genuine and relatable - a space where you can be honest about what’s really going on, without having to pretend everything is okay.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, trauma, grief and difficult life changes.

I offer online, telephone and in-person counselling, so you can choose what feels most comfortable for you.

You don’t have to know where to start. We can start there together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an HND in Counselling and am a BACP registered member. My counselling training included pluralistic approaches, with a particular interest in person-centred practice.

I continue to develop my knowledge through ongoing CPD, with training covering:

  • Complex trauma and its impact on the self
  • Trauma and dissociation
  • Person-centred, dissociation-informed practice
  • Traumatic memories and trauma-related guilt
  • Sexual trauma
  • ADHD and attention difficulties
  • Mental health
  • Healthy relationships
  • Domestic abuse awareness

Alongside my counselling training, I have professional experience with Women’s Aid, supporting people affected by domestic abuse and difficult life experiences. This included initial assessments, risk assessments, counselling, support and signposting to appropriate services.

I also have experience working within an ASN school environment, supporting young people with a range of individual needs.

My professional experience, training and life experience have all shaped the counsellor I am today. I bring professional knowledge alongside a genuine understanding that life can be complicated, messy and unexpected - while ensuring that your experiences remain at the centre of our work

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’ve never had counselling before.

If you’d like to get a little more of a feel for who I am and how I work, you can find The Space Between on Instagram: @thespacebetween.counselling

I share reflections and psychoeducation around mental health, relationships, domestic abuse and some of the experiences that can be difficult to put into words.

You’re also welcome to visit my website for more information about counselling, sessions and how to get in touch.

You don’t have to know exactly what to say when you reach out. We can start there together.
