About me
Do you ever feel like you are not good enough? Or maybe you are stuck in the loop of anxiety and don't know how to move forwards? Are you living with constant overwhelm and feeling the weight of others' expectations? Are you self-critical or a people pleaser? These are just some of the things we could work together on. Ultimately, I will work with you where you are, and together we can make sense of how your past experiences may have shaped how you are feeling today. I offer warmth and insight in a calm, safe space.
I'm Jacqui, a qualified, Integrative therapist and I work in a trauma informed way. I often work with clients who are living with chronic work related stress or relationship challenges.
I have ADHD and welcome clients who are looking to explore possible neurodivergence, whether you are diagnosed, self-identify or just questioning. You don't have to be neurodivergent to work with me, however. A lot of the people I work with are high-masking, perfectionist, high-functioning men or women who want to work towards a more authentic way of living. I specialise in working with women in perimenopause or menopause to support their journey of self-awareness.
My hope for you is that, through reaching a greater self-awareness, you will be able to take control of anxiety, make and hold boundaries, say no when you mean no, understand your emotions and how to regulate them, and have the confidence to break any negative patterns that no longer work for you. I aim to enable you to make sense of your difficulties and embrace healthy change, with tools to manage distress and anxiety and live a life defined by your values.
Ultimately, my hope for you is that you will learn to love yourself, tame your inner critic, and live a more peaceful life.
Training, qualifications & experience
My core training is in the person-centred approach (level 4 Diploma in therapeutic counselling), and I am committed to ongoing professional development. I integrate different models of therapy, depending on your unique needs, such as Transactional Analysis and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I also work with grief and loss and have lived experience of alcoholism within the family. Some clients struggle with addiction themselves because of their experiences, whilst others may take on more of a care-taking role. I can support you with this.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
