Hello and welcome my name is Isabel and I am based near Chichester in West Sussex, I offer counselling to suit your needs either face to face or online at a time and pace that works for you.
Life can be challenging at times, and counselling can provide a supportive, safe, and confidential space to explore relationships and events in our lives that might make us feel overwhelmed or helpless. Taking to a trained and experienced professional can help us make sense of our experiences and find ways to move towards a more settled and secure future. The journey can help you have a greater understanding of yourself and fresh perspectives enabling you to build resilience and make meaningful choices. that work for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am Psychodynamic trained and work in an Integrative way which means this is your journey! I won't be giving advice or solutions but will be empowering you to explore and choose what works for you. My special interests are working with issues around confidence and self esteem, sometime struggles around these issues mean you can feel isolated, unappreciated, and unheard. In our sessions you may explore why you experience these feelings, and I can help you to find your inner voice so you can start to lead the life you want. Honouring and valuing your uniqueness and finding your place in the world can be so liberating.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Alongside my Private Practice I currently work with Frontline 19 providing counselling to NHS and other frontline staff during this pandemic. I am a Counselling Tutor and have many years’ experience as a trainer and coach. I am a BACP registered therapist and adhere to their Ethical Framework and have regular supervision to support my safe practice as a counsellor.
I know from personal experience taking that first step can be daunting but as a recent client shared ‘Thank you so much for your help and support and for being a kind and compassionate listening ear. Being able to speak openly to you has hugely alleviated the worries that I had been carrying. You’ve given me the practical tools and kind words that I needed to start living in the present again, and I can’t thank you enough.’ Having someone there for you can make a huge difference. Please do get in touch by email or phone and I am very happy to have an initial chat to go through how Counselling would work for you, and to understand what you would like to get out of it. I look forward to hearing from you!
