About me

Since I have been working as a Counsellor and through my own journey, I have become aware that people will engage in the process for all sorts of different reasons. I am interested in helping with what it takes for us to stay alive in difficult and hard times. I continue to be inspired by those that are able to engage in counselling, as often it may uncover and stimulate the emergence of transformation and change.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychosexual Therapist working with Adults, Young Adults and Couples.

My work provides a space for you to be heard and understood and perhaps put down the pre-tense and share what it really means to be human - an opportunity to talk about issues that may be currently difficult to share with others. It is a chance to stand back, view your life with clarity and see changes that can be made to create a healthier and stronger foundation enabling you to take the next step. It will allow you to resolve personal issues through self-awareness, awakening insight and instinctive knowledge.

A space to feel confident and resilient to cope with life. It is safe and confidential to reflect, explore and integrate your feelings and thoughts in the most appropiate and beneficial way for you.

I am also an experienced Children's Counsellor working with a range of issues.

Certain major events that disrupt the family structure or routine may challenge a child's abilitity to cope or any other traumas may interfere with their emotional social development.  My work with Children helps them to build their confidence and self-esteem, to cope with their stresses and conflicts.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with individual Adults, Children and Young People Counsellor. A member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am also a qualified Sex Therapist working with a range of issues which may affect your sexual self-esteem and sexual relationships.

I have also trained and hold certificates in Brief (short term) Counselling
Relationship Counselling

My background is in Child Care and I have specialised in counselling Adults and Child survivors of Domestic Abuse, working with families and supporting individuals in crisis, Trauma and Bereavement.

Working as an Integrative Counsellor means that I consider a range of philosophies and offer different types of therapeutic support, depending on the needs of an individual client. I sometimes use art and craft as well as talking with some children and adults too.

I adhere to BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice and I am committed to ongoing training for continued professional development. I attend regular clinical supervision to support my work and in accordance with BACP guidelines.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
