About me

Hello and welcome.

You may be used to holding things together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, nervous or unsure what’s really going on underneath. You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem or feel so saturated with self-help jargon that it's hard to know where to start or to feel anything at all. I welcome anyone who is curious to understand more about themselves, their relationships with others and feels that talking therapy may be a helpful place to start.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained psychodynamically which, put simply, means we will work together to explore your inner world, patterns of thinking and behaviour that may be unsettling or making daily life difficult to navigate.

I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from the Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework.

Choosing the right therapist is important and involves finding someone you feel you can work with and trust. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent minds (particularly ADHD and Autism) and have an open approach to therapeutic work as I appreciate that we are all different, traditional therapeutic approaches don’t always fit, and I adapt my work to suit how you think and process the world. My practice is inclusive and affirming of LGBTQIA+ identities and people who feel non-normative, non-traditional and are frequently misunderstood.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

How we will work together:

We will explore how your past experiences may be shaping how you feel and relate in the present. Together, we will look at patterns that may be causing distress and begin to understand where they come from. We will co-create a safe environment where you can gradually feel more able to sit with and understand difficult feelings. Over time, we can explore what you want for yourself and consider other choices that may be available to you.

Next Steps:
I’m based in North London and work in person and online. I can offer time-limited or open ended therapy. This means we will go at your pace and end when you feel ready. Sessions are weekly, begin on the hour and last for 50 minutes.

If you’d like to get a sense of whether we might work well together, I offer a free 30-minute telephone consultation. This gives us a chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and for you to ask any questions. If you decide you'd like to continue, we can then begin arranging your first session.

You’re welcome to contact me by phone or email with times that might suit you for an initial consultation, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. All correspondence will be treated confidentially.
