About me

I offer a warm and accepting space for you to explore what is troubling you, I believe we all deserve to be who we are and with many years of experience you will find a safe place to ve just that.  Whether you have been struggling for along time of have difficulties right now I am looking forward to hel;ping you.

Finding the right therapist can be overhwhelming, I have been there myself. Will they accept me as I am but also help  me with the changes that need to happen?

Cogonitive Behavioural Therapy ( CBT) and its newer verion, ACT                  (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) are highly effective and one of the most proven ways of working with anxiety and depression. They work best when the therapist and client have a good connection. This is why I offer a free 20 minute session to see how we get on with each other.

We will spend some time finding out what is causing the problems and what is keeping them going. Once we have done that we can work as a team to break the cycle. Often being more kind to yourself and allowing thoughts and feelings to have more space is a good place to start. When I have helped my clients do this then the suffering often lessens.

I have years of experience and have dealt with many kinds of issues. I welcome all kinds of backgrounds, beliefs and orientations. I have particular experience of anxiety, depression and relationship problems. Issues around relgion, either from the past or currently are also something I have specialist knowledge in.  I can also help people working twelve step programmes.

I am happy to work short or long term, whichever works for you.  We can spend the first session deciding how best we can work together and what you would want to get from therapy.

I can undertake home visits which can ve helful if you want a face to face and cannot travel or use zoom. I can also work with issues around fear of going out such as agoraphobia.

I now have an new office space so can offer in-person or on-line sessions.
