About me
Hello and welcome. I am an experienced and fully qualified counsellor offering online counselling to adults. I am a member of the BACP and I hold a Masters degree in Counselling as well as an MSc in Social Work. I use an Integrative approach, in order to draw upon a number of counselling techniques to best suit your needs. My work history spans counselling in private practice and charity settings and in social services.
I have a genuine passion for helping individuals make sense of and move forward from the challenges they are experiencing. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space for exploring the reasons that brought you to counselling including; anxiety and depression, relationship and family issues, work issues, stress, work-life balance, life choices, self-esteem and bereavement.
My counselling style is collaborative and warm and I give you the time and space to express your thoughts and feelings and help you make sense of your world right now. Counselling can be illuminating and life-changing.
Online sessions allow me to offer counselling to clients further afield in the UK and abroad, including expats and those seeking a British counsellor whilst living, travelling or working in other countries.
You may like to have a short number of sessions or may prefer open-ended therapy. We can review as we go. I offer flexible hours, Monday to Friday.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an experienced and fully qualified counsellor holding an MSc in Counselling (High Distinction). I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such work in accordance with their code of ethics.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
