About me

Maybe you're highly sensitive to the needs and feelings of those around you, struggle to say no, or constantly worry about disappointing people. You may be exhausted from holding everything together, caught in self-criticism or left feeling as though you're somehow "not enough".

Perhaps you're thinking, "I should be able to cope, but I'm not."

You don't have to navigate this alone. I offer face-to-face counselling in Omagh, as well as online counselling across Northern Ireland and the UK, providing a warm, compassionate space where you can begin to understand yourself, develop healthier boundaries and reconnect with your sense of self-worth.

Many of the people I support struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, self-criticism and people-pleasing, and may feel disconnected from their own needs, boundaries or sense of self. I provide a supportive relationship, where you can feel heard, and understood, for what may be the first time in a long time. Together, we can explore what's keeping you stuck, make sense of your experiences and begin to develop greater hope, strength and belief in yourself.

I also have experience supporting people recovering from spiritual abuse or harmful religious experiences, helping them reconnect with their own inner voice, values and autonomy.

Therapy can help you transform your relationship with yourself by:
● Understanding your people-pleasing patterns – exploring why you may put other people's needs, feelings and expectations before your own, and beginning to recognise what you need and want.

● Breaking free from self-criticism – creating space to understand that harsh inner voice and develop greater self-compassion, acceptance and kindness towards yourself.

● Recognising the signs of burnout and overwhelm – understanding what is draining you, what you may be carrying for others, and finding healthier ways to care for yourself.

● Developing healthier boundaries – learning that saying no doesn't make you selfish, and that you can have boundaries without taking responsibility for how other people might react.

● Reconnecting with your self-worth – exploring the beliefs and experiences that have shaped how you see yourself, and developing greater self-trust and confidence in who you are.

● Finding your way back to yourself – creating space to discover your own needs, values, feelings and wants, so you can begin to live in a way that feels more authentic to you.

What to expect: I bring a creative and compassionate style to therapy to suit each client. In a collaborative relationship, we may work with not only your thoughts and emotions, but also creatively to gain a deeper sense of self - always guided by what feels right and meaningful for you.

Trust, safety and compassion are at the heart of my work.  I want you to have space to be honest about how you're really feeling, without needing to have everything figured out first.

Our work together might involve exploring the roots of your struggles, making sense of painful experiences, and gently uncovering new ways of relating to yourself and others. My aim is to walk alongside you with empathy and care, helping you feel more grounded, empowered, and at home in yourself.

It is important to find the right person to support you and I welcome you to get in touch with me to show your interest and we can arrange a 20 minute free consultation so we can get a sense of each other and how I can help you. We will discuss what to expect in therapy and discuss a suitable regular appointment and can book our regular sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
