My introduction
I work with adults in the Trowbridge and surrounding area and I also offer online and telephone sessions anywhere within the UK. I bring a rich life experience and offer you a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental place where you can explore your feelings and issues. I believe that real and lasting change can be found with the right support.
Specialities
Loss & bereavement, self-worth, anxiety & depression, spiritual problems, work-related issues, relationships, trauma, life goals, inner child, and parts work.
What do you need?
It is sometimes helpful to ask yourself - What am I looking for in a counsellor? What are my main goals as I go for counselling? What is important to me right now? How would I like to change? What changes would I look to see around me?
Often all someone needs is some quality time and space to be able to be themselves, not feeling judged no matter what they say, and feel some compassion from somebody who cares. This is what I offer.
About me
So I am empathetic in nature and like to help people navigate the difficulties and challenges of life. This is not to say I have solved all the problems of life, but I believe this strong desire plus thorough professional training and long experience has given me valuable insights into ways to help.
In the busy world in which we live, I provide that space for you to unwind, off-load and rediscover who you are, as well as work with the problems you are experiencing.
I have observed time and again, the positive changes that people experience when they make time for themselves and to be heard.
Your counselling
We will talk about a simple contract to suit your needs. Sessions will usually be weekly at the same time for one hour. The length of time you come for counselling will depend on the issues you bring. Some issues can take a few weeks, others months to see improvement. As counselling is ‘person-centred’ but integrative (i.e. using any resource that might be helpful), you can use the session as you like, although I may suggest ways of working to help you explore your issues.
I invite you to phone or email me.

Further information
For in-person appointments, I often work from an office at my home address, and also from time to time at specially-selected rented spaces in nearby locations. At home the office is separated off with its own access, and provides a comfortable, confidential, and welcome space for you to feel free to be yourself. There is usually parking on the drive, and if not, nearby.
For the sessions themselves, I work from a person-centred foundation, so the session is yours to use it how you want. I will always respect your autonomy.
