About me

I work in practice with clients online and in person in Chiswick, W4 and in Hammersmith W6.  I offer a sensitive, reflective space and work with a broad range of issues and concerns, both short and long-term.  I work relationally and will draw on different and sometimes creative approaches to bring more of yourself and your experience into awareness.

The past and the present
This may mean looking to the past to see how that might be causing suffering in the present and difficulty in your relationships, including your relationship with yourself.

The body
I am interested in what the body has to teach us, and in learning ways to cope by understanding stress and anxiety as it manifests in the body.

Soul
I will make space for soul in the work, which can bring in questions of meaning and open new ways of understanding yourself and what is truly important for you.

Particular Interests
I have a particular interest in trauma, shame and addiction and in the lasting impact of parental addiction and attachment trauma on trust and relationships. And of course, in the ways therapy can help heal these early wounds.

Also the challenges and potentials of transitional times in life - quarter life, midlife and later life for example.

How therapy can help
It's not possible at the outset to know what the journey will hold. Often it is relieving simply to feel heard and to put words to feelings that have not yet been named.

This may create space for deeper exploration and in coming to know yourself more fully, you may find more peace within yourself and feel able to live more freely, whatever that may look like for you.

I know how difficult it can feel to take the first steps and to ask for support.
Please do feel free to call or email me for availability and I will meet you with openness and compassion.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of BACP, and hold a diploma in Integrative Transpersonal Counselling from Re-Vision, which is accredited by both BACP and UKCP.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
