About me

Hello & Welcome.

I am an experienced body-oriented psychotherapist, accredited with UKCP since 2003. Based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, I offer a safe, supportive & confidential space for you to explore your issues. Both individuals & couples are welcome & I offer a free introductory session if you would like to talk to me to discuss the possibility of working together.

I am also training as a transformational coach for women & am currently offering sessions at a reduced rate. This work is more future focused & time limited but can be extended if needed. It also includes body awareness/ process & the spiritual dimension as a powerful source of resource in our lives.

I like to integrate different ways of working, such as mindfulness, visualisation, dream work & creativity & hands-on work can be very helpful to support release from the body & nervous system. We can explore how you would like to work & you are welcome to try out new approaches.

Over the years, I have worked with a wide variety of issues, from anxiety, depression, loss & relationship issues to sexual trauma, psycho-spiritual crisis & transitional processes. Since my recent return from sabbatical, during which time I worked as a volunteer with children & teenage girls/ mothers in various countries in Central & South America, I am focusing more directly on empowerment work with women. In my practice, I have always worked with clients from diverse backgrounds & cultures & I embrace difference & diversity.

Training, qualifications & experience

I originally trained in Core Process Psychotherapy at the Karuna Institute in Devon with Maura & Franklyn Sills & I consider mindfulness practice to be the ground of my work. I went on to do training with other well known teachers in the field of prenatal & birth psychology, such as William Emerson, Ray Castellino & Karlton Terry. I have also developed hands-on skills to support the safe release of trauma through biodynamic craniosacral training & more recently thrrough TRE (Trauma or Tension Releasing Exercises). At the heart of these ways of working lies the premise that bringing awareness & spaciousness to places of holding & suffering in the body/mind facilitates release & restores flow & health.

Over the years, I have sought to bring my interest & skills in supporting early relationship & attachment issues & resolving traumatic experiences into different contexts. I run small womb surround workshops by arrangement for individuals who wish to explore their experience in a small group where safety & individual attention is given high priority. The womb surround structure was devised by Ray Castellino as a result of his pioneering work with families in the prenatal & birth period. I have always enjoyed supporting healthy attachment processes & have worked with women/couples around conscious conception & birth & bonding as a family in the post-natal period.

I also run monthly TRE small group sessions & introduce trauma principles such as slowing down & taking a pause to reduce overwhelm & promote self-regulation. Participants can learn to stop the process if it becomes too much & prevent re-traumatisation.

In addition to longer-term psychotherapy & trauma releasing processes, I am also offering shorter-term coaching sessions for women around empowerment & transformation ( I am currently still in training). I see this work as another way of supporting the current rising of women & the re-emergence of the feminine principle in the world. For women who wish to join a group, I offer a monthly sessions, occasional day workshops & also a nine-month transformational journey with yoga sessions.

The women's work that I am now offering is influenced by training I completed in 2018 as a Menstruality Mentor, to support women in the entirety of their life experience, acknowledging the various rites of passage that women pass through. It is also informed by prenatal/ birth & developmental psychology. The spiritual dimension & the natural world are also powerful influences in my work. I feel passionately about supporting women to be fully expressed in their lives & to make their greatest contribution.
