About me
I am a Registered Counselling Psychologist with 20 years experience of working in a counselling role. I offer a professional, confidential and effective private therapy service from comfortable consulting rooms in Hove, East Sussex or online sessions.
The frameworks I use are Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner in EMDR, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and cognitive analytic (CAT) informed approach. As a practitioner I am warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental.
My personal values affect my therapeutic approach ; I am queer and trans affirmative in my practice . I am a feminist , politically left and social justice oriented.
I am flexible and accommodating and I will schedule therapy sessions according to clients' needs. I see adult individuals experiencing psychological distress for therapeutic support.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 10 years experience as a Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health Care Professionals Council.
My specialist areas are trauma, gender identity and minority stress. I am an EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner in EMDR work for the NHS as a senior psychologist in an adult gender service. I also have many years experience working with Adults with severe and enduring mental health issues such as Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), bipolar disorder, psychosis depression, anxiety as well as relational issues and challenging life events.
I have a particular interest and experience in working with Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Trans people. I also have many years experience working with behaviour change in eating disorders , sex addictions.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
