About me

Hi, I'm Hannah. I'm an integrative counsellor, meaning that I blend elements of different therapeutic models, to form a tailored and unique approach, to suit individual needs and goals. Everything about you is unique, including your life experiences and your preferences for how you like to work, and so if you choose to work with me, then creating a tailored approach, and focusing on understanding and meeting your individual needs, will be my priority. I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space, where you can simply just be you, and in which we can together, explore difficulties that you may be experiencing.

I work with both adults and young people aged 11+, and offer creative ways of working alongside traditional talking therapy, to those who would like to work in this way.

I am a registered member of the ‘British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’ (BACP), which means that I adhere to exceptionally high standards of safe and ethical practice.

I offer face-to-face sessions at The Somerset Rooms in Queen Square, Bath. I also offer both online sessions and telephone sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

Before qualifying as a counsellor, I have spent the majority of my working life, working in a variety of support roles, where I gained extensive experience working with both adults and young people, with a wide range of different needs and with a wide range of different issues. I have worked/volunteered in a variety of different settings over the years, including, youth centres, schools, and a number of different charities, including Samaritans, as well as a domestic abuse charity where I carried out my training placement hours. I also worked as a Wellbeing Tutor for a significant number of years, in the Performing Arts sector.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
