Gina Hickey - PgDip, MBACP
Old Town Stevenage
Modern day life today can be extremely stressful and demanding. In the hope that we will avoid any emotional pain, trauma or unhappiness we navigate a path through life the best we can. However, at times we can be left feeling as if we just do not have the resilience to cope with our existing pressures, let alone deal with any other difficulties which arise, leaving us suffering from stress, anxiety and depression.
These pressures not only then impact on the way that we feel about ourselves, they can impact on our relationships in both our personal and work life, leaving us emotionally and physically exhausted. Life can lose its meaning and feel a constant uphill struggle. We might question the decisions that we make or have made in the past. We might even feel so overwhelmed with everything that we are unable to even make decisions or get anything done. We can even begin to feel a burden to family and friends.
I am a fully qualified psychodynamic counsellor and whether you are struggling with a specific issue which is causing you distress, or you just feel that everything is getting on top of you, I am committed to providing you with a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space. As a talking therapist, I can support you while we explore the sad, difficult and painful feelings you are experiencing, so that you can begin to make sense of them. Gaining this awareness can begin to help you feel more resilient which, in turn, can give you the confidence to make the right choices in your life, for you.
If you have any questions or would like to hear more about the way I work, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
