About me
“Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to you.” — Carl Jung
I am interested in listening and talking to you about what is troubling you, or just whatever is on your mind that you would like to explore and understand further.
My work
Talking to the right psychotherapist in a confidential, non judgemental relationship can allow us to come to terms with loss, whether due to a bereavement, lost relationship or disappointment with aspects of one's past. Talking together about the present (and when relevant the past) can help us find ways forward in order for you to live your life more fully. My principle aim will be to help you help yourself by enhancing your self understanding. A deeper self understanding can lead to a change in how you view yourself, your life and/or your relationships leading to an improvement in your quality of life. Learning more about yourself can lead you to make different, perhaps more appropriate choices and decisions however small or large they may be.
My experience
My years working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in London and Tunbridge Wells has provided me with a broad spectrum of experience. My earlier work in teaching and social work with children and adults whilst living in South America for many years, has given me the breadth of life experience and an appreciation of cultural differences on which my interest, training and practice as an analytical therapist is based. As an experienced practitioner I have worked with a wide range of clients for twenty years I am experienced in working with adults and teenagers, and I can see children from ages of 11 upwards.
I am fully qualified clinically and academically in Psychotherapy, Psychology, Counselling and Supervision. I work with children, teenagers and adults. I offer clinical supervision, academic tutoring and mentoring for counselling and psychotherapy students.
My practice
I offer therapy from my private practice in Tunbridge Wells and Brighton.
I usually see patients once a week for psychodynamic therapy, each session lasting 50 minutes.
I am also experienced in offering short-term therapy for a set number of sessions usually between six to twelve.
My particular areas of interest and experience
I am particularly experienced and committed to working with those who are experiencing relationship difficulties and/or anxiety and depression. This interest stemmed from my first degree in Psychology where in the final year I majored in looking at the causes and symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Another area of interest and extensive experience of mine, is seeing patients for therapy who are on the autistic spectrum. One of the areas my MA research looked into, was working psychodynamically with those with autistic traits.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
