About me
Hello and welcome. I am an adult and children’s counsellor based in Lisburn, offering a warm, safe and supportive space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgement.
I work with both adults and young people experiencing a range of emotional and personal difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues and life changes. I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and I aim to provide a calm and compassionate environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace.
When working with children and young people, I use age-appropriate and creative approaches to help them express emotions, build confidence and develop healthy coping strategies.
I have over ten years experience working with children in school settings, including supporting children with neurodiverse needs.
I offer counselling sessions in Lisburn and can also discuss online or telephone support where appropriate.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a CPCAB PQ Diploma in Trauma-Informed Children and Young People Counselling. I have also completed ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), Help Kids Talk Training, Safeguarding Training, Child Protection Training, and Paediatric First Aid training.
I have three years experience supporting both adults and children with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties. My work is grounded in empathy, compassion, and creating a safe therapeutic relationship where clients feel listened to and understood. I work in a trauma-informed way and tailor sessions to meet the individual needs of each client. When working with children and young people, I use age-appropriate approaches to help them explore emotions, build confidence, and develop healthy coping skills.
