About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Gerry and I am a qualified Gestalt Counsellor MBACP. The Gestalt method of counselling considers your whole self and works with how your past experiences and thoughts of the future are impacting on you in the here and now.

I understand that finding a suitable counsellor is very important so, to help you decide whether I am right for you I am offering an initial 30-minute session free of charge. Our sessions will be held in a safe, secure and confidential space, whether you choose face to face or online, to explore the difficulties you are experiencing.

As we know, everyone is different so I will adapt and shape our sessions in a way that works for you. We may find that by working creatively you will be able to express locked emotions to help to gain awareness and find a new perspective.

I understand it may be difficult to reach out for help, especially if you are feeling anxious or stressed. I can offer a calm empathetic space to offload your feelings without judgement.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
