About me

Hi, my name is Georgia, and I am an integrative relational counsellor offering sessions online and in person in Kingston upon Thames to adults aged 18 and over.

Sometimes life can change in ways that leave us feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, forming relationships or maintaining boundaries, or find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stressed or unable to cope. You might be going through a significant change or loss or simply have a sense that something doesn't feel quite right.

How I work

I believe there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ reason to reach out for support. You don't need to have everything figured out or even know exactly what is wrong. You are deserving of the space to talk, to be heard and to explore what is going on for you.

As an integrative relational counsellor, I believe that no single approach can fit everyone. I draw on different therapeutic approaches and work collaboratively with you, tailoring our work to your individual needs and experiences. At the heart of this is the relationship we build together. I aim to offer a warm, safe and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and able to be yourself.

Contact me

I understand the importance of connection. If you feel I might be the right fit, I offer a free initial telephone call where we can explore your needs and see if I am the right person for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience

Working within the education sector has given me the opportunity to offer support to a broad range of people. I also have experience working within NHS GP surgeries, offering counselling to people of different ages and with a wide variety of experiences, difficulties, and reasons for seeking support.

I have a background in musical theatre, which has given me a particular interest in mental health and wellbeing within the arts and creative industries. I understand that working in creative environments can bring its own particular pressures, from navigating uncertainty and competition to managing self-doubt, identity and the pressure to perform. I am particularly interested in offering a space where people working in the arts can explore these experiences openly and without judgement.

My interests

As well as the above, I have a particular interest in supporting people experiencing grief and loss, questions around identity, difficulties with relationships and boundaries, and feelings of imposter syndrome or not feeling ‘good enough’.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I hold an Enhanced DBS certificate and am committed to providing a professional, ethical and confidential service.

Qualifications

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
