About me
I am a person centred therapeutic counsellor and I am also qualified to provide relationship counselling. I work in a non-directive and non-judgemental way. My aim is to empower my clients to improve their emotional and psychological well being and unlock their optimum quality of life.
I believe that you are truly the expert in your own life and I work with my clients with this principle in mind. Sometimes life can run away from us and we need to ground ourselves, refocus and move forwards.
It is my purpose in life to improve the lives of others and in addition to my work as a counsellor I am also a Registered Care Home Manager of a Residential Rehabilitation Service for adults with Mental Health issues. I am also completing a Masters degree in Mental Health Science and currently working on a dissertation focusing on Men's lack of engagement in talking therapy.
I am exceptionally passionate about the positive effects that therapeutic counselling can offer and I provide a safe and confidential space where you will feel listened to without any criticism or judgement.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation prior to booking a session. This allows you to decide if you feel I would be the right individual for you to work with.
I offer face to face, telephone, or online counselling sessions. In your first session, we will go through the contract agreement followed by a lifestyle and well being assessment. We will identify what you are hoping to achieve from our sessions and use this as the foundation of our work together.
