About me

About Me
I am a qualified Creative Child and Young Person Counsellor, with a background in Sociology and Philosophy (BS, Oxford Brookes University) and postgraduate training in Child Counselling from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), currently undertaking specialist training in trauma therapy to better support children affected by early adversity.

I have worked as a counsellor for five years and bring over nine years of experience in education, learning support, and private tutoring.

Who I Work With
I work with children and young people aged 5 to 18, supporting them through a range of emotional and psychological challenges including:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Low self-esteem
  • Loss and bereavement
  • School-related pressures
  • Social and emotional difficulties
  • Identity and adolescent mental health
  • I work with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in school settings, clinics across London, and online.

My Approach
My therapeutic style is child-centred and integrative, meaning I tailor sessions to suit the individual needs of each child. I use both talking therapy and creative, play-based tools such as:

  • Drawing and painting
  • Puppets
  • Sand trays
  • Storytelling and imaginative play
  • These tools offer children a safe and engaging way to explore their thoughts and feelings.

Supporting Neurodivergent Children
I support children and young people in making sense of diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Through reflective and strengths-based work, I help them develop a more confident and empowered sense of identity.

Emotional & Educational Support
My background in education helps me work holistically with children, particularly where emotional wellbeing and learning intersect. I carry out school-based assessments around learning needs and collaborate with parents and professionals as part of a wider support team.

Transitions & Teen Support
I help primary-aged children prepare for the move to secondary school, offering support around emotional readiness, friendships, and self-confidence. I also work with teenagers navigating:

  • Mental health challenges
  • Peer pressure and social dynamics
  • Self-esteem and identity development

What to Expect
Sessions last 50 minutes
Available in person in Sloane Square or online
I offer regular parent/carer check-ins (without breaching child confidentiality)
I take a systemic approach, working alongside families, schools, and other professionals

Confidentiality & Safeguarding
What a child shares with me is confidential and not shared without their consent. However, if I have concerns that they are at risk of harm, I will follow appropriate safeguarding procedures to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
