About me

Hello, I am Florence Ferraco (Flor) I am an art therapist specialised in Drama and Movement therapy. I practice within a holistic, integrative and client centred approach.

Outside the Square:

This is the name of my private practice where I lead group and individual therapy sessions. If you feel stuck in a situation and become overwhelmed by it, sometimes you just need someone to help you think outside the square to listen and guide you towards a new path to gain a different perspective.

My Approach to Therapy:

I promote creative work and creative thinking to enable the space to explore any emotions from a safe distance and then help you bring them back to you when you are ready to receive them.

I use a variety of methods depending on your needs and preferences. You will have the chance to tell your story in a confidential space, open up your imagination and try different creative mediums to heal and empower yourself. I include elements of  art, sacred geometry, meditation, breathing, body movement, poetry or if you prefer just talk. I can help you find the right mindfulness tools for you. All of these are underpinned by Jungian concepts and other psychoanalytic theories.

I provide all materials required and I tailor each session accordingly to your interests and intentions.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications Experience and Background:

I am an HCPC and BADTh registered Art therapist. I hold an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy from Central School of Speech and Drama. I have a background in performing arts and I am a professional artist.

Diabetes Mental Health:

I have experience working with diabetes mental health. I was myself diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago and I know the struggles this entails! I offer services for newly diagnosed, adults, children or carers. I also help people dealing with chronic illnesses.

Supporting Women:

I lead sessions for women helping with different issues during pregnancy, prenatal or postpartum. As well as empowering women and girls to help them build the skills and confidence to achieve their full potential.

Covid Mental Health Support:

During Covid I have helped people cope with stress and stress management. Under the unprecedented changes this pandemic has brought, we found ourselves forced to adapt and reinvent a way of living. This has affected everyone in different manners causing a chain reaction which has an impact on our mental health.

Help for Families:

Different family issues, relationship issues, experience of abuse and coping skills.

I offer as well creative workshops for personal, team or community developments and introduction to mindful work and Arts Therapy.

DBS check

In England and Wales, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly known as CRB) carry out criminal records checks for individuals working with vulnerable groups, such as children. To find out more, visit gov.uk , or contact this professional directly

I can use a ramp for wheelchair users to access the therapy room, but the toilet facilities have four steps to access them so I won't be able to facilitate that.
