About me

 About Me

Hello, and thank you for your curiosity about how we can work together to create meaningful change. If you're feeling disconnected from life or your body, struggling with anxiety or depression, or finding it difficult to reach your full potential in relationships or personal growth, counselling can help. Perhaps you've experienced loss, illness, or significant life transitions such as menopause or retirement—whatever you're facing, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

As a qualified pluralistic counsellor, I blend a range of therapeutic approaches—including CBT, mindfulness, narrative therapy and somatic therapy,to offer tailored support that meets your unique needs. I understand that these approaches can sound quite vague, so to give you more of an idea of what therapy might look like in practice, it could include:

Reflective conversations around your thoughts, feelings, and life experiences

Using creative exercises

Goal-setting and action planning

Planning and practicing coping strategies

Alongside my work as a counsellor, I have over 20 years of experience as a midwife, supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most profound moments. Alongside the joy of new life, I have witnessed the deep sorrow, anxiety, and grief that can accompany significant change. My work has given me a deep understanding of how loss and transition shape our emotional well-being, and I offer a safe, nurturing space for individuals to explore and express their feelings.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life and already hold many of the answers within. My role is to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore, heal, and make the changes needed to move forward and live a more fulfilling life."**

My sacred space is in a garden where our work is further enhanced by the beautiful sights and sounds of nature .

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
