About me

I am a qualified, HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist who is trained and experienced in a range of therapeutic models and approaches. I have an extensive experience working with individuals presenting with various mental health difficulties ranging from mild to severe in terms of complexity. I have worked in both third sector organisations and the NHS.
Despite being common, struggling with mental health can be very challenging and may look and feel different for each and every one of us. I will work with you in a collaborative way so that together we can explore your needs and goals for therapy, and so that I can offer you a tailored therapeutic approach that will be specifically aimed at meeting your needs.

Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DPsych) - Glasgow Caledonian University
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) - Richman EMDR training
Experience
I have experience working in organisations offering psychological services to adults presenting with general mental health concerns, including: anxiety, depression, anger management, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), relationship issues, bereavement, self-esteem issues, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Additionally, I have worked in specialist services, including an addictions service, and a service specifically for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
I am trained in a range of therapeutic models including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Trauma-focused CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Person Centred Therapy (PCT), Prolonged exposure (PE), and EMDR.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
