About me
I am an Integrative counsellor which is a combination of different types of therapy and a holistic way of helping. Ultimately, that means that all of our work together would be centered around you and what works best for you, looking at both current situations as well as anything that could relate to the past.
I will provide an empathic, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to share your thoughts, feelings and emotions. No matter whether appointments are via telephone/online or face to face, I'll ensure you'll always feel both safe and supported.
We will work at your pace and at no time will you be under pressure to share things that you're uncomfortable with. Whilst at times during counselling you may feel vulnerable, we would always work within the limits of what you're comfortable with.
I offer in person, telephone and online counselling with face to face appointments taking place at a premises in Hoole, Chester.
There are no limits to the number of sessions I can offer you, these could be short or long-term and can be assessed throughout therefore is not something you would be expected to know at the beginning but rather something that can be an open discussion throughout depending on your needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
- CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in CBT
- CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
I am a fully qualified, Intergrative counsellor with an additional qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I work using a blend of therapies including Person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic therapy. Working in this way means that I can take your individual preferences into consideration, using a more personalised approach that provides you with flexibilty to move between different therapy types depending on what you'll find most helpful.
During my practice, I have worked with a broad range of areas including but not limited to anxiety, health-related anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, grief, identity, self-esteem, relationships, guilt, loss of motivation, work-related stress, boundaries and negative thoughts.
Even if what you're seeking therapy for is not listed above, please feel free to get in touch. I'd be happy to discuss how I might be able to support you via email or a free 15-minute consultation call.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a free 15 minute consultation call which we can use to get to know a little about each other, what you hope to gain from or work through during your sessions, as well as whether I am the right therapist for you.
It's important to not only ensure I could provide the support you are looking for, but to also ensure you feel comfortable to work together as I understand starting your counselling journey can sometimes be daunting.
If you have any questions about counselling or what it is I can offer, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll also be happy to answer your questions via email if this is something you'd prefer.
