About me
I am a fully trained integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I work with children and young people in an education setting in collaboration with their families, education staff and outside agencies. I also work with adults, 18 plus, on a one-to-one basis in the private sector.
There might be many reasons why someone may seek to support or improve their emotional well-being and mental health, feeling lost, bereavement, anxiety, depression, past traumas, and abuse, to name a few. The process of counselling/psychotherapy within a safe and private space, offers a path, along which these difficulties can be explored, with a view to creating meaningful long-lasting life changes. My integrative approach, underpinned by humanistic, psychodynamic, intercultural and attachment theories, is employed by talking through issues. Creative and play therapy is also employed with under 18’s. Therapy is offered in a warm, caring, and approachable way that is adapted to each client’s needs.
I believe with compassion, acceptance, non-judgement, the willingness to be present, and genuineness, a good therapeutic relationship can be built to facilitate the conditions where a psychological shift can take place.
Practice description
I work integratively by tailoring my approach to meet each client’s individual needs, with a focus on both humanistic (relationships) and psychodynamic (looking at the past) approaches. I work with a diverse range of clients, across a wide range of issues, my clients always remain in the driving seat in order to steer their own destiny at their own speed throughout the time that we work together. My aim is to support you throughout our therapeutic relationship to help you achieve your best possible outcome.
My first session
During our first session, we will talk about your current circumstances, and how you are feeling emotionally and physically. We will also discuss your concerns and your goals in greater depth. This assessment will inform how best we might work together. We will agree a therapeutic plan, and confirm our work alliance contract (confidentiality, safety, data protection, etc).

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
