About me

Are you navigating burnout, struggling with emotional intensity, relationship patterns, identity questions, or the impact of growing up misunderstood?

I specialise in working with ADHD and Autism, with or without a formal diagnosis- drawing on both my clinical training and my own lived neurodivergent experience.

My approach is gentle, collaborative and shame‑free, creating a space where you can unmask, slow down, and explore what’s really going on beneath the overwhelm. Together, we work at your pace to make sense of your experiences, build self‑understanding, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and manageable. Therapy with me will feel relaxed, we can work creatively, we can sit side by side to avoid the intensity of eye contact, we can explore the office fidgets and we can drink tea and munch biscuits.

I offer online, phone and in‑person sessions from my practice at Heritage Exchange in Huddersfield. My practice is intentionally neurodivergent‑affirming; you’re welcome to bring your stims, your brew, your fidget toys, your tangents, your silence, or your need to info‑dump. You don’t have to mask here.

If you’re looking for a counsellor who understands neurodivergence from the inside and can offer a calm, validating space to explore whatever you’re carrying, I’d be glad to work with you.

Getting support to the people that need it is important to me, so I also run monthly wellbeing sessions for Huddersfield community group Unity: One and All. These are National Lottery Funded so are free to attend. (Check out their Facebook group for the Events Calendar for each month.)

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

My office is in an old mill and has a lot of steps! There is a lift that goes up most of the way but there is a set of stairs after that too.
