At certain times in our life we could all benefit from someone objective and professional to talk to. Recent statistics highlight that 1 in 4 of us will suffer from mental health issues at some point in our lives. What I will offer you is a place to talk through worries and concerns that are affecting you right now. Whatever is causing you unhappiness, you are not alone...you maybe confused and don't know where to turn, unhappy with your life. You may be going through grief, trauma, loss, separation. You may feel overwhelmed by feelings of anxiety, panic, depression....irrational fears and phobias. You may be struggling with an addiction that is getting out of hand. I have experience with dealing with all these issues and many more so, please see below for an extensive view of my experience.

If you are feeling confused and overwhelmed by your emotions at this time, or unsure where to go from here, let me try to reassure you....I can offer you an assessment session where you can get the chance to meet me, ask questions and decide whether we can work forwards together towards a better, happier more relaxed way of being that is right for you. This is your time to be heard, I will offer you a safe, comfortable and confidential setting that is non-judgemental, empathic, warm and welcoming. Together and at your pace we can explore your feelings and understand how they are impacting on your life, together we can work towards a brighter future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

Individual sessions last 50 mins, Couples therapy 75mins.  At our assessment session we can meet and decide whether we feel we can work together. From this session I may explore with you a way of working that could be beneficial for you and your needs. This may include Person centred counselling, CBT, Hypnotherapy, relaxation work , mindfulness practice with guided imagery to name a few. This is a collaborative process, all ways of working are discussed and agreed before therapy begins. YOU AND YOUR NEEDS ARE CENTRAL TO THE COUNSELLING PROCESS, THIS IS YOUR TIME TO BE HEARD.

As we work forward together we will review how you feel therapy is going for you and reschedule further sessions depending on your needs. You are under no obligation to stay in therapy, although I would advise a closing session if you wish to discontinue.
