About me

Trauma leaves us feeling broken, in pain and disconnected from our true selves. You may be exhausted by feeling triggered in everyday situations, isolated from friends and family who can’t understand, or struggling to make sense of what happened to you. You may not even remember a time you didn’t feel like this. It is wonderful that you're here now because you’ve decided you deserve more and are ready to feel different. Most of all you’re ready to leave the past in the past, change old patterns that no longer serve you and step into a hopeful future on your own terms.

I’ll meet you exactly where you are, and offer you the support you need to find strength you never knew you had. A life where more ease and self-acceptance is possible and attainable. You don’t have to be a prisoner of your past, and you don’t have to do it alone.

I offer online therapy, meaning that I can work with you from wherever you are in the UK. .  Contact me for a free 30 minute initial online consultation - I look forward to hearing from you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered psychologist, psychotherapeutic counsellor and EMDR therapist.  I specialise in working with adults who are struggling with PTSD, complex trauma or any past experience big or small which is stopping you from fully enjoying life in the present. My approach is gentle, and I will give you as much time as you need to tell your story because therapy should be a place where you feel listened to and valued as the worthwhile and important person that you are.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I offer EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) as a focussed therapy of its own, or alongside talking therapy. EMDR is a powerful therapy that helps the brain to reprocess and heal the pain of difficult memories. EMDR therapy is best known for treating PTSD but can help with a range of other difficulties too.  I take an integrative approach to talking therapy, and my work is particularly informed by psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. You can ask me any questions you have about EMDR or the other approaches I use when we meet.
