About me
Coming to therapy might be a very scary and daunting thing to do, you may feel like you ‘shouldn’t’ need therapy. I understand this and I want you to know that you are not alone, from your first steps I will be with you.
I can provide a compassionate environment so that you can feel, talk about and reflect on, your own emotional processes. Having gained understanding about yourself and felt your emotions, you will increasingly have the space to reflect and make choices. From this can come a greater sense of autonomy and a feeling of being more in charge. If you are suffering and feel unsure of how to change this, I invite you to contact me and take the first step towards change and self -acceptance.
I am experienced at working with emotional difficulties such as depression, anxiety, anger, body dysmorphia, fear, trauma, loss, unexpected health diagnosis, self-criticism, worthlessness, numbness and PTSS (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome).
If you are feeling any or all of these, I encourage you to find a supportive and open space. This can help you to improve your mood, understand your struggles, explore your feelings and be able to accept yourself more.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
In order to get started we would have an introduction telephone call. This call lasts for around 15 minutes and I can explain how I work and you can ask me any questions you might have. We can also both see if we are a good match. There is no obligation to have therapy with me after this chat.
If you do decide to go ahead with therapy the first session is an initial consultation session where I'll be asking a lot of questions. This is so that I understand your history, your goals and what bought you to therapy. You can also see if I feel like a good match for you.
Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes.
I work in very calm and comfortable rooms in central Newcastle. They are easily accessible by public transport (bus, bike, train and Metro) and by car.
