About me

Hello and welcome, I'm Emily. I appreciate this step may feel like a daunting one to take, but one that can also be the biggest turning point in our lives.

I strive to hold a compassionate, judgement free space to explore what has brought you to therapy, at your own pace and above all else, have your voice heard. You don't need to carry it all alone. We can work together deepening your insight and understanding of yourself, others and the present circumstances you are in and how it is affecting you. For me, I found within my own personal therapy a safe, supportive environment that allowed me to feel heard and organically move towards healing and making significant changes.

The therapeutic relationship is at the core of the work we do and I believe that finding the right therapist is a crucial and meaningful step along the way. I offer a free 15 minute consultation so you can get a feel of what it would be like to work with me and if I am the right person to be alongside you for this part of your journey.

What I offer:

I work as an integrative counsellor, drawing upon a range of approaches best suited to you.

We can meet weekly or bi-weekly online, working either on a short or long term basis, depending on what feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully insured, integrative counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I am committed to upholding the highest professional and ethical standards in my practice.

I am registered with the ICO for data protection compliance.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
