About me
My name is Emily Ventre and I am a Clinical Psychologist, which means I have training up to a doctorate level and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I have over 12 years experience of working with adults, teenagers and children with a range of difficulties including anxiety, low mood, OCD, feelings of shame, or low self worth.
In our sessions I will provide a compassionate and non judgemental space to make you feel safe and supported. I use an integrative approach in therapy but tend to lean towards a compassion focussed, trauma and attachment informed way of working. I am passionate about helping people to understand their distress as an understandable response to their experiences, as well as helping to relieve this distress using evidence based approaches.
I am also a mum of two and am passionate about supporting parents with the complex emotions that can arise during this life stage.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, which means I have training in multiple therapeutic models.
I will work collaboratively with you to understand your therapy needs, and together we will reach an agreed and shared goal. I often find it’s most helpful to draw on a number of evidence-based therapies in sessions, so I integrate ideas from different therapeutic models to most effectively understand and alleviate the emotional difficulties you have been experiencing.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information
I am passionate about developing trusting and safe relationships to help you to feel comfortable talking about what is important to you. I want to empower you to understand these difficulties from a place of compassion and understanding and then help you to alleviate your emotional distress using skills that you can continue to use long after therapy ends.
