About me
Hi, I’m Liz.
I specialise in supporting children, teenagers, and young people across Derby and the surrounding areas through life’s ups and downs.
I also work with adults who feel my approach is the right fit for them.
I offer a calm, confidential, and supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever’s on your mind - with no pressure and absolutely no judgement.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply need someone to listen, I’m here to walk alongside you.
I specialise in providing supportive, nurturing, and age-appropriate counselling for children, teenagers, and young people in Derby and surrounding areas.
Growing up can be challenging, and sometimes it’s hard to put feelings into words. I offer a safe, calm space where young people can express themselves freely and feel truly heard.
My work with children and young people is:
- Gentle and understanding
- Adapted to their age and needs
- Creative and flexible where helpful
- Always led at their pace
- I focus on building trust so they feel safe enough to open up in their own time.
What I Can Help With:
- Anxiety and worries
- Low mood or sadness
- Self-harm or intrusive thoughts
- School, college, or exam pressures
- Family or friendship difficulties
- Identity, gender, and sexuality
- Low confidence or self-esteem
- Life changes, grief, or trauma
- Every young person deserves to feel understood and supported.
I am especially passionate about creating a welcoming space for:
- LGBTQ+ young people
- Neurodivergent children and teens (including ADHD and autism)
- Those who feel different or struggle to “fit in”
- Your identity and experiences are always respected.
I also offer supportive, reflective, and collaborative clinical supervision for counsellors and therapists in Derby and surrounding areas, as well as online.
Supervision is an essential space to reflect on your work, support your wellbeing, and continue your professional development.
My supervision approach is:
- Person-centred and relational
- Non-judgemental and supportive
- Focused on your growth and confidence
- Grounded in ethical and safe practice
- I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable bringing both challenges and successes.
Clinical supervision provides a space to:
- Reflect on client work
- Explore challenges and ethical dilemmas
- Develop your skills and confidence
- Support your emotional wellbeing
- Ensure safe and effective practice
- Whether you’re newly qualified or experienced, supervision should feel supportive and empowering.
I offer supervision for:
- Qualified counsellors and therapists
- Student counsellors
- Those working with children and young people
- Practitioners seeking a person-centred approach

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
