E. Anne Van't Hoff
Are you feeling sad, anxious or lonely? Or do you just feel that you are not getting what you would like to out of life? Whether as result of a bereavement, trauma, work or relationship issues, anxiety or depression I can help you find new coping strategies for life and climb out of the hole.
I am an experienced counsellor trained at the Northern Guild of Psycotherapy and accredited with the UKCP. I work with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, social isolation and addictions including alcohol gambling and alcohol.
After a long career as a lawyer I realised that the thing I gained most satisfaction from was managing my team, developing them and enabling them to reach their full potential. This was my inspiration for re-training as a counsellor where I am able to help people who have lost their way and are not allowing themselves to be fully in their lives fulfilling their own potential and overcoming adversity.
I practice in a safe and warm environment in the lovely coastal village of Alnmouth in Northumberland offering complete confidentiality and can also offer walking therapy across the coastline to those who feel they would benefit from the healing properties of nature, weather permitting...
I offer a free initial telephone consultation to discuss your concerns and issues. If you decide to proceed, your first session will be an assessment where we explore your history and concerns. This allows both you and me to decide if I can help you and to set the number of sessions that will be required to address your goals. The initial session and any subsequent session will last 50 minutes and we will normally meet weekly if possible at the same time.
Some issues can be resolved relatively quickly within 6 to 8 sessions. More complex presenting issues may require us to work together longer but you will at all times be able to decide whether, and for how long, you wish to continue with counselling.
