About me
Helping people understand themselves, each other, and the relationships that matter most.
Relationships have a profound impact on our wellbeing. As human beings, we are made to relate – to connect, to grow together and to learn from one another. When our relationships are supportive, they can bring warmth, joy and a deep sense of belonging. When they become strained, they can leave us feeling hurt, misunderstood and alone.
Counselling offers the opportunity to slow things down, step back from familiar patterns, and begin to understand what is happening beneath the surface. Often, understanding is the first step towards lasting change.
I work with individuals, couples and families who want to improve communication, strengthen their relationships and find new ways of relating to one another.
People often come to therapy feeling stuck in the same conversations or the same misunderstandings. Together, we explore the patterns that may be keeping those difficulties going, creating a space where everyone can feel comfortable enough to speak honestly, without fear of judgement. My aim is not to tell people who is right or wrong, but to help them understand themselves and each other more clearly.
When I work with couples, I see the relationship itself as my client. Rather than taking sides, I help both people slow difficult conversations down, listen differently, and recognise what each person is trying to communicate beneath the conflict. As understanding grows, new possibilities often begin to emerge.
I also have a particular interest in supporting intercultural relationships. When partners come from different cultural backgrounds, differences in values, expectations and communication styles can sometimes create misunderstanding. In our work together, both cultural perspectives are welcomed and respected. I aim to create a space where these differences can be explored with curiosity, helping people understand each other more deeply and strengthen their connection.
Whether you are coming on your own, as a couple or as a family, my hope is that you will find a calm, thoughtful and supportive space where you feel able to talk openly, reflect honestly, and discover new ways of relating to yourself and to the people who matter most.
If this feels like the kind of support you are looking for, I would be very glad to hear from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative psychotherapist, clinical hypnotherapist and mind-body wellness coach, accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and the British Institute of Hypnotherapy and NLP.
My core training includes a Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling Practice and a Clinical Diploma in Life Coaching and Hypnotherapy. I also hold additional training in Adlerian counselling skills, motivational interviewing, and bereavement care, alongside safeguarding and supervision training.
Alongside my private practice, I have experience working with clients in a range of settings. Earlier in my career I worked for several years with Cruse Bereavement Support, where I provided bereavement counselling and supervised a team of volunteers supporting clients experiencing grief and loss. I have also worked with individuals and families affected by cancer through my role at The Hummingbird Centre.
In addition to therapeutic work, I have delivered workshops and training on emotional wellbeing for parents, educators and international teams, including work supporting staff wellbeing and resilience in humanitarian contexts.
I also have experience working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including those for whom English is a second language, and I aim to bring cultural sensitivity and openness into my therapeutic work.
My professional development is ongoing, and I regularly undertake further training and supervision to ensure that my practice remains ethical, reflective and informed by current approaches in counselling and psychotherapy.
